Sporcle Geography Rule

I think Sporcle needs to add a rule for Geography quizzes so we can stop the arguments.
Like these for examples, some of the mostly debated ones.

  1. We consider Cyprus is in Europe and not Asia
  2. Only Türkiye and Russia are transcontinental countries
  3. French Guiana is part of France and Greenland is part of Denmark.
  4. Caspian Sea countries and Great Lake US states are landlocked
  5. UK is the only country England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are not countries.

I know there is many more including "Palestine/Kosovo is not a country" but Sporcle already answered that.
This would also make "Sporcle standards" a real thing that users need to listen, how do you think?

Well, these are already standards (plus so many more). People will keep arguing these things because they have different personal beliefs or don’t understand, or are just stubborn. For example, I think Cyprus is and should be categorized as an Asian country, but Sporcle doesn’t, and I’ll adhere to those rules on this site because of it.

If a quiz is Featured (Sporcle reviewed and promoted on the home page), they can be considered accurate. Contributed quizzes are up to the creator's research, and accuracy can vary but are generally decent. Regardless, there will still be some areas or topics of geographic quizzes that are murky or debatable due to recent events or due to the fundamental nature of political geography being a debatable subject.

In general though, The UN and the CIA's World FactBook are Sporcle's long standing reference sources for geographic and geopolitical data. If people disagree with how something has been presented here in a Featured quiz, it's likely a reflection of the UN or FactBook data.

But @7orangessss is 100% right, people will argue over the wrongest of things, and for the dumbest of reasons. Whether there's a publicly posted Sporcle standard or not, people will still argue over these things and disagree to the ends of time and adding a public rulebook here won't change that.
